Sachs, the historic German motorcycle marque, delivers a unique take on the motorcycle with its MadAss 125, distributed in the US through Pierspeed Scooters (a subsidiary of Cobra Powersports). Americans have already been acquainted with the smaller 50cc MadAss, but this August US riders have begun sampling the extra 75cc offered by the MadAss 125.

The Sachs MadAss 125 benefits from an extra 75cc of oomph from its 124cc air-cooled Single.

The four-valve Single churns out a claimed 11 horsepower and six lb-ft of torque. The air-cooled engine transfers that pop to the rear wheel via chain drive and 4-speed transmission. Exiting the spent gasses of the motor is a fully-exposed exhaust, with undertail silencer.

The MadAss 125 chassis is unique, with the frame, swingarm and shock running parallel. The rationale for the parallel design, as described by the Pierspeed PR, is it “allows jolts from the rear wheel to be sent forward into the front suspension, and not up into the rider.” The aforementioned monoshock is pre-load adjustable, with the front suspension being handled by a 43mm fork.

Dual disc brakes stop the MadAss 125, a 260mm rotor front and 215mm rotor rear. Low-profile tires (90/90 front, 120/80 rear) adorn the 16-inch cast aluminum wheels. The seat rests at a rather tall 33.7 inches off the ground at the rear arm of the frame. The frame also stores the 1.22-gallon fuel capacity, with claims of 85-110 mpg efficiency from the 209-lb gas-sipping design.

“The first shipment of 2010 Sachs MadAss 125s are now available on dealer showrooms. We’re excited that the demand for the MadAss 125 has remained high ever since dealers started taking pre-orders a year ago. And despite tough economic times, dealers are reporting brisk sales,” says Peirspeed President Bill Pierce, adding. “The MadAss is something that appeals to a group of riders that want to stand out in a crowd and draw attention everywhere they go. Consumers are looking for fuel efficient alternative transportation like scooters and small displacement motorcycles. This Sachs product gives the customer a choice beyond the traditional.”

Available in four color schemes (Black, Graphite, Yellow and Silver), the MadAss 125 sports a $2699 MSRP.

The MadAss 125 has already been selling at select dealers beginning this August.

Baru-baru ni, Mofaz telah melancarkan Sach MadAss 125 ini di Malaysia dengan nama Momos MadAss 125.  Sememangnya ia akan menjadi ‘mainan’ baru kepada penggemar motosikal tempatan.

Apa-apa pun, aku kecewa kerana tiada maklumat yang dikemaskini di http://www.mofaz.com/. Jadi, Adakah pihak Mofaz betul-betul nak jadi ‘player’ dalam industri motosikal di negara kita ni, ataupun sekadar melepas batuk di tangga?

  4. Zizie, senang eh motor nih nak bawak dlm traffic jam? Aku tgh nak beli motor nih, cuma tak dapat decide antara fz150i atau madass nih. Ko bawak motor ni ade gegar tak bile pegi high speed sket?

  5. moto ni tangki minyak kat dalm rangka.boleh up grade engine ke 150cc atau ke 160cc atau ke 175cc[tapi tak tau leh lulus jpj tak?] klu tukar engine tak boleh paki stater electrik.yang best meter digital [yang pertama kat msia,moto jepun pun tak pakai] tak da tangki ,jadi lebih ringan.[macam keta lotus,lebih ringan,kurang beban, jadi lebih laju dan pickup].lampu 2 projkter, macam lampu bmw[klu tukar hid lgi cantek. jom beli kita sokong dan bantuuu syrkt melayu !!!!!!!!

    Apa2 pun, bagi pihak MOMOS, sy nak mohon maaf kepada semua yg dah buat tempahan sebab stok agak lambat. 2 bulan lebih baru dapat selepas launching ari tu, WALAUBAGAIMANAPUN, masalah ni dah pun dapat diselesaikan, stok dah mula sampai dan dah mula dihantar ke kedai yang sudah membuat tempahan awal.

    Sememangnya bermula tahun 2010 ini, MOMOS betul2 akan menjadi salah satu player dalam industri motosikal, Ini adalah model terbaru dari MOMOS setelah lama (Mungkin juga disebabkan oleh kurangnya @ tiada pengalaman dan market survey yang dibuat sebelum ini) jadi MOMOS tidak mengeluarkan model2 baru, selepas tahun 2007 (di kala lain2 player sibuk dgn model baru masing2).

    Akan ada beberapa lagi model yang akan menyusul nanti. Sama-sama kita tunggu.

    xsesuai betui utk pasaran m’sia nama tu
    kena tukaq nama lg baguih,

    Sebenaqnya, memang nama dah tukaq tu, Asai MadAss (sebutan MED ASS),
    Kami tukaq pi MADASS (sebutan MA DASS).

    Memang kami dah buat selection dah untuk nama tu, tapi kami nak kekalkan identiti asainya.

  8. Gua dah test moto ni…. Tp pakcik gua punye la. Satu benda je yg gua musykil, Fuel metre macam tak function je. Bila dah start moto cuma speed ngan milage je yang ade. ??????

  12. Motor nie x ada penunjuk minyak mcm moto2 lain…tp yg bestnya bila minyak sampai 1 level, dia akan kuar warning (suara) suruh tambah minyak, lepas tue tangki simpanan yg blh supply utk 32km akan digunakan. Lebih kurang mcm emergency tank dkt air craft…
